Children are provided with a healthy snack in the morning and in the afternoon to include fruit and vegetables.
Our lunchtime meals are freshly prepared and delivered in specialist equipment provided by a local chef. Our chef is passionate about food and particularly keen on providing children with a healthy and varied diet using only the best quality ingredients. Children on funded places have the option to bring a packed lunch to nursery instead. However, we do advise that children often feel left out if they do not have a hot meal which is the most popular option amongst our parents and carers. If you do choose to bring a packed lunch, we ask that you ensure it is healthy as possible and includes for example, a sandwich of say cheese, meat or fish, fruit and yogurt.
Our prepared meals are designed to provide hidden goodness in order to develop children’s liking for fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Fruit and vegetables are incorporated into both main dishes and puddings. A light tea is provided. Please see a copy of our tea menu.
We also provide children with water throughout their nursery day and are given a choice of water or full fat milk at snack times. Baby food and formula milk is also provided for our younger babies. We cater for all dietary requirements on request.
Peanuts & Nut Allergies
We operate a peanut / nut reduced environment. If you are providing food for your child then please ensure that all food does not contain any nuts or traces of nuts. All snacks and lunch is provided by the Nursery and parents are encouraged not to provide food from home. Food for special occasions should follow the above rules.
