About Nether Green Nursery
All year round
We are a family owned nursery providing a safe, stimulating and challenging environment for children aged between 6 months and 5 years in a homely and welcoming environment.
The nursery is run by experienced and friendly staff team who work closely with our two other settings in Sheffield to offer exceptional childcare with the emphasis on nurturing children and developing them into happy, creative and independent individuals who are fully prepared for their next steps in learning.
Our nursery is located in a spacious church building in Sheffield 11, close to many local shops with good bus services to and from the city centre. The accommodation is spread across two large bright and airy rooms and enjoys a fabulous large garden with grass area and play equipment.
We provide regular newsletters for parents and carers. Please also look out for updates on our Facebook page.
Nursery is separated into different age groups based on individual needs and strictly adheres to Ofsted regulations for staff ratios:
Bumble Bee room (6 months to 2 years) 1:3
Ladybird room (2 years to 3 years) 1:4
Grasshopper room (3 years to 5 years) 1:8
We work hard to provide a nurturing environment helping children to build confidence and feel safe and happy at all times. We like to encourage learning by providing a relaxed and homely environment whilst constantly observing children’s’ interests. Staff enjoy planning activities that are child led and based around their interests taking the opportunity to further extend their learning through play and exploration. Good communication with parents and carers is an essential part of our work and helps us to plan and care for your child to ensuring best outcomes for learning and development.
We welcome getting to know families in the local community and enjoy good links with many local schools. The transition from nursery to school is important and we recognise that by working closely with teaching professionals in schools we can help to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible. Prior to the start of school and usually in the last few weeks of term, we invite reception teachers to visit our nursery to get to know the children and to meet with our staff so that we can provide them with as much information as possible to support the transition.
At Nether Green Nursery we also have extensive experience of working with other educational and healthcare professionals who often visit us to help us to support children who may have additional needs.
